    3. Hello All, If you are a new researcher to genealogy, these are a few of the guide lines that I use in my research. Average age for marriage base on 20 years old, look around this age. Brides usually get married in their home town or village, then they may go to live where the groom is working after the marriage. First child is usually born within the first year of parents marriage if not before. If you cannot find the baptism in the church where they live, try the church where they got married. If it is at festival time, Easter, Christmas, etc., they may go to the nearest big town to get married. If you have family tree software on your computer, get a system of your own going, put all of the leading names in capital letters, :- JANE REES and JOHN LAWRENCE | Alfred MAURICE married SARAH LAWRENCE | Florence George Percy George Herbert Elizabeth JOHN These names in capital letters make your research much easier, this system works for my spouse Roger as well as myself. These names in capital letter lead you down to the next name, and eventually lead you to your own name, these are your stepping stones, well worth using. If anyone has any more useful tips, please put them on the list. Regards Barbara Mallyon Basingstoke, Hants, UK BarbaraMallyon@lewmal.co.uk Listowner
