An Ann May died in 1824 in Kingsclere and was buried at St. Peter, Brimpton. I don't have any more than this but found the burial on the May family website mentioned below Charles was almost certainly one of the Brimpton May family and his parents could be Hugh and Jane May. I don't have Brimpton registers to check and am waiting eagerly for the time Berks FHS publish a transcript for this parish as so many Ashford Hill-ites found spouses there. An extensive website for the May family is to be found at http://www.mayfamilyhistory.co.uk/index.html. It is worth looking at this site even if you don't have May interests for the fascinating article on Yeoman farmers. -- John Lewis <jayellatntlworlddotcom> from Bournemouth, Dorset, UK. using Debian GNU/Linux and GeneWeb genealogy software
