Hello all With all the recent messages about HOCKLEY recently I had a quick look in my records for any references to the name and found a Mary Ann HOCKLEY (b. 1880 Isleworth, Middlesex) who married Samuel George DYCKHOFF on 3 June 1900 in Isleworth (Samuel is one of my maternal G. Grandmother's brothers). Until now I had not paid too much attention to Mary Ann and it was only when I had a look for her and her family on the 1881 census that I discovered her father Anthony gives his birthplace as Kingsclere in 1850 and her mother Fanny gives what I believe to be a mis-transcription of Ecchinswell in 1854. Checking on FreeBMD I find a marriage for an Anthony HOCKLEY to Fanny HUSSEY in the Sept Qtr 1874 in Kinsclere RD which would fit with the birth of their eldest child. Can anyone confirm who Anthony and Fanny's parents were? I think Anthony is probably the one who appears on the IGI as baptised at St Mary's, Kingsclere on 12 July 1846, son of Thomas and Elizabeth, and that his date of birth in the census is incorrect.
