Catherine Edwards married Alfred CHILD in Kings Somborne in Sep Qtr 1868. I didn't have any ancestors for her until today but have found her her parents were Thomas (Henry) Edwards and Sarah REEVES who married about June 1840 at St.Peter & St.Paul, Kings Somborne. The Edwards/Gatehouse family of Compton House, K S were very well known with records held by Hants RO going back to the 1400s and "seats and/or estates at Compton House, Hampshire, Appleshaw, Hampshire, Bishops Sutton, Hampshire, Kings Somborne, Hampshire and Stockbridge, Hampshire" Sarah Reeves parents were James Reeves and Sarah SWEETAPPLE who married at Enham on 25 Sep 1815. I was delighted to have this surname confirmed when I found that Montague William Edwards ca 1855 baptised his second child as Marion Sweetapple Edwards in 1884. Thomas (Henry) Edwards was born in Hunton ca Feb 1809 to William Edwards and Henrietta Holdaway who married there on 3 Jan 1805. This tree will be on my website later today. -- John Lewis Debian Linux with Geneweb genealogy application
