John L Barton was born in Portsea (per Census) in 1833, baptised as John Lawson Denys on 21 Jun 1833 in Porchester to John Lake & Eliza Barton. There is one sibling, Elizabeth Harriet Ollive bapt 4 Sep 1834, in the Hants Bapt Index. He was a Naval Instructor RN (Retired ) in 1881. -- John Lewis Debian Linux with Geneweb genealogy application
