Good morning I have found a possible family connection as follows; Sophia Bates b 31st Mar 1779 Kingsclere Father James Bates , Mother Mary Green. She married Joseph Smith Aug 26 1802 (this from the IGI) My possible connection is a marriage in Berkshire of a Rose Green to George Matthews , in 1796 Sophia Bates (of course it might not be the same one) was a witness. I have no other information on this Sophia nor can I find another that fits. Can't find anything for Mary Green or Rose Green to see if they are connected. Is anyone doing Bates we have a John Bates marrying our Elizabeth Matthews.12th Jan 1793 Any help or advice would be appreciated, been going around in circles on this for what seems like forever. regards Beverley
