    2. Hello Barbara, A few more twiglets for your 'twig' George BUCKRIDGE was son of Isaac, the carrier and so brother of Maria. Later, the witness to the marriage of Maria Buckridge to Stephen BRIDGMAN, (Caroline Buckridge, sister of Maria Buckridge), went on to marry John SAVERY, a widower, and brother to Ann Edwards Savery ( who married George in London in 1848) John & Caroline had a large family in Kingsclere. John SAVERY was brother to JOSEPH SAVERY, my gt gt grandfather. Both sons of James SAVERY & Maria POOLE. What a tangle! Valerie

    3. Hi Vicki, John and All, Thatcham is not far from Kingsclere, so it is quite possible that they are related. William BRIDGMAN baptised 23 June 1780 Kingsclere re Bishops Transcripts, I have as married to Amy ALLAN. John, you have a William BRIDGMAN baptized on 6 April 1782 - St. Mary, Kingsclere married to Amy ALLEN, which William did Amy marry ?? Kind regards Barbara Lewis Mallyon Basingstoke, Hants. I don't have eithr Williams nor Martha's birthplace. there was a baptism at St. Mary Thatcham on 28 Jun 1772 of a William son of William and Elizabeth. William married Elizabeth WILLIAMS at St. Mary Kingsclere on 1 Aug 1759, William being a minor of Brimpton at the time. William & Elizabeth had 11 children all baptised at Thatcham. William was bapt at Thatcham on 13 Apr 1741 son of Thomas & Martha but I have no more information on his parents other than that they too had 11 children. I have the surname spelt as BRIDGMAN: http://startx.co.uk:2317/Kingsclere?m=NG&n=Bridgman&t=N -- John Lewis Debian Linux with Geneweb genealogy application

    3. Hi John and All, Thank you for your detective work on Amy ALLEN'S correct husband. >William married Elizabeth WILLIAMS at >St. Mary Kingsclere on 1 Aug 1759, William being a minor of Brimpton >at the time. The marriage was by Licence as reported in the Hampshire Allegations for Marriage Licences. William BRIDGMAN was a servant age 18 years and Elizabeth WILLIAMS of Kingsclere was also age 18 years, her father is Richard WILLIAMS and they have the marriage date as 17 August 1759. There are no other BRIDGMAN Kingsclere marriages, by Licence listed, this is what I was looking for. Kind regards Barbara Lewis Mallyon Basingstoke, Hants.
