Hi John, Rod, Bob, Peter and All, Thank you for your messages. It was very nice to be able to get together around the horse shoe shaped table, where we could all chat to each other at the Crown Inn, in the room that was the former School and Court Room. It was very rewarding to know that the Lunch brought together for the first time, Bob HUTCHINS and Gerald SOPER, who share great grandparents. Nice to meet John his wife Joy and mum, my own family tree links in with John LEWIS at least 5 times, if not more and Rod Whale, we share 6th great grandparents with the BURGEMAN/BRIDGMAN family. Jim BATES living in New Zealand, no longer on the List, sent me a book he had put together about his life, it makes interesting reading, and is being read at the moment by Peter McNulty. Beryl Shackleton living in Scotland, brought along her laptop showing her SAVERY FT, she has the BUCKRIDGE family connection. Looking at my computer I discover the same family information coming down on one of the other daughters. Thanks Peter and Rita for the walk after Lunch, much enjoyed, we were luck with the weather. Peter said that after next years 7th Anniversary Lunch, Sunday 5th October 2008, he will take us to the Kingsclere Archives to do a bit of researching, could be interesting. Very best wishes and keep well Barbara Lewis Mallyon Basingstoke, Hants. UK [email protected] List Admin

Well I did say I was related to nearly everyone! I will one day find I am related to my wife if Rod and I can find the link between us. My great-grandmother Esther Fisher had 10 siblings, 53 cousins, 5 second cousins, 3 third cousins, 88 fourth cousins and 145 fifth cousins My Grandfather Francis Cooper had 11 siblings, 33 cousins, 137 second cousins, 52 third cousins, 181fourth cousins and 450 fifth cousins my Mother Gwendoline Esther Cooper only had 3 siblings but had 43 cousins, 22 second cousins, 83 third cousins, 51 fourth cousins and 210 fifth cousins So you can see that lot was enough to populate Kingsclere between them :-) I am sorry I wasn't able to bring my laptop as usual but I now have a replacement, for the techies among you it is a Compaq Evo N160 and it cost me all of £40 but I need to spend as much again on upgrading the memory as it doesn't like loading acrobat reader to view the pdf files for things like Hampshire baptisms, marriage and burials. All being well it will last me for a few more years of Kingsclere Anniversary Lunches. -- John Lewis Debian (Sid) with the GeneWeb genealogy package
