Mother in Law enjoyed the day out as well. I gave her a quick tour of Kingsclere in her wheelchair but she specially liked the fact that on the way home I found 110 Worting Road, Basingstoke for her. She had lived there for a couple of years some 65 years ago as a result of Joy's father being assigned to work in the Thorneycroft ammunition factory. He didn't stay there long as his skill as a plasterer was then required for bomb damage work in Southampton. Rather than live in Southampton they moved to Bournemouth where his grandfather Enos Foot had lived for some time after moving there from Donhead St. Mary in Wiltshire. He too was a plasterer and eventually moved to Wimbledon where he and his brothers set up a Plastering contracting business. MinL often talks about the time she spent in Basingstoke. She will remember that period better than she will remember todays' trip by the time tomorrow arrives -- John Lewis Debian (Sid) with the GeneWeb genealogy package
