    1. Re: [King] HUNT
    2. Hi John and list, Yes, as we discussed a few months ago, this seems the most probable identification based on analysis of all the information we have available to us. On the same subject, I wonder about 'my' James - born about 1800, very approximately!. I originally thought the most likely parents were James and Elizabeth, and you have him down on your website as being theirs. However in view of what has since come to light about John Salter Hunt, the alternative baptism entry of James, s of Elizabeth Hunt and Daniel Tonant, has to be a possibility. Elizabeth could have given birth to JS, whose father John Salter did not marry her, then gone on to form a relationship with Daniel Tonant, who also failed to 'make an honest woman of her', and finally settled with John Pocock. Two points against this interpretation are: Elizabeth Hunt and her husband John Pocock had a son called James - would she have used the same name twice when the first was still alive? - and, if our James is this one, what happened to the son of James and Elizabeth?
