Hello All, Are you watching TV BBC1 programme Heir Hunters a new Series today was the 1st of 5 daily programmes, this programme is well worth watching. (9.15am) What is it about, people who have died intestate and how genealogy helps to trace their families. Today's programme, a man who had died with out leaving a Will, he had one son, the father and his wife parted, his wife married again and the son was adopted by her new husband. The sons name was changed to the same name as his mother and her new husband. The law says that this son, because he was adopted by the mothers new husband, he was not legally entitled to a share in his fathers money that he left, the money went to the fathers sisters families.
