Hello John An update on Mary Brind I have a copy of the cert Date; Oct 25th 1845 John Bates Widower , his Father listed as John Bates ,Carpenter ,as is he, John Bates snr would have been deceased as in 1831 when brother Daniel was sentenced re the machine riots his Mother was a Widow. the witnesses on this cert are; George and Ann Hughes both John & Elizabeth signed.On the marriage cert for John Bates and Elizabeth Watts Feb 8th 1840 ,he is a bachelor & Elizabeth a spinster .On that cert he lists his Father and himself as Wheelwrights . Witnesses for this marriage are James Watts and the mark of Emma Davis.Both John & Mary Signed.
