BlankHello List, Would SKS please help me. My grandfather Thomas Hunt (1871) married Ellen Mason in 1895 but I am having trouble tracing Ellen's ancestry. She claims to have been born in Shalbourne but I can find no trace in Wiltshire. I now believe that she was born Ellen Stout in 1873, mother Harriet Stout born Shalbourne, Wilts.1853. Harriet married Richard Mason in 1874 and Ellen turns up as Ellen Mason in the 1861 census. If anyone has access to the Berkshire record could thy please check for Ellen Stouts birth or baptism in 1873 and for any bastardy bond, plus Harriet's marriage to Richard in 1874.
