Hello Everyone, I hope you won't mind me telling you that last Wednesday the 9th May, Roger and I were at the Nursing Home here in Basingstoke to celebrate his mothers 100th Birthday. His mother is registered blind, stone deaf and has dementia. Most people say to me, did she receive a telegram from the Queen. How does the Queen know that it was Audrey Lewis 100th Birthday. Two weeks before Audrey's birthday, a lady from the Pensions Department came to see Audrey, they wanted to see her Birth Certificate and her Marriage Certificate to prove who she was. I asked does the Queen really sign the Birthday Cards and the answer was a yes, if the Queen has only a few cards she will sign them, if she has many cards, she has a rubber stamp. We think Audrey's card was stamped. On the day of Audrey's birthday, the Mayor of Basingstoke came to her birthday party, he opened the card from the Queen, on the card the Queen was wearing a yellow dress. There was also a telegram type of message from the Pensions Minister wishing Audrey a Happy 100th Birthday. Audrey predicted that she will live to be 100 years old, but she is not going to hang around like the Queen Mother, the Queen mother lived to be 101 years old, so we have to see if this prediction come true.
