Maybe others born elsewhere. John The Elizabeth TIDBURY who married Hanson FORD is I believe the daughter of David TIDBURY and Ann BIRD who married at St Mary's Thatcham on 3rd May 1744. David TIDBURY and Ann BIRD had the following children: 1. David TIDBURY, baptised 7th April 1745 at Thatcham. He married Sarah WITHERS on 24th October 1772 at St Mary's, Thatcham. At the time of the marriage David was from Greenham and Sarah was from Newtown, Hampshire. David Tidbury signed the register (name spelt Tidbery) and Sarah Withers signed with her mark. The witnesses were John THAME and Edward WINBOLT (Edward Winbolt was the parish clerk and he was a witness at many of the Thatcham marriages at this time). David and Sarah had eight children including Jane TIDBURY b.1783 who married William KEWELL of Ecchinswell in 1803 at Thatcham. Their daughter Phoebe KEWELL married another David TIDBURY c. 1821. This David Tidbury (my gggg grandfather) served with the Royal Welch Fusiliers in the Napoleonic Wars and was at Albuera, Badajoz, Salamanca, Vittoria, etc. He was also a survivor of the Battle of Waterloo, where he fought in Captain Campbell's No. 5 company. I have been unable to find any record of the marriage of David TIDBURY and Phoebe KEWELL. 2. Ann TIDBURY, baptised 19th April 1747 at Thatcham. She married Daniel FASSETT on 16th November 1767 at St Mary's Thatcham. The witnesses were Barth. DUCK and David TIDBURY (presumably Ann's brother or father). 3. Elizabeth TIDBURY, baptised 9th April 1749 at Thatcham. She married Hanson FORD on 14th May 1780 at St Mary's Thatcham. Hanson was a bachelor and Elizabeth was a spinster. They were both of this parish. They were married by banns. The witnesses were Daniel FASSETT and Edw. WINBOLT. 4. Rose TIDBURY, baptised 17th February 1754 at Thatcham. She married Thomas WYATT on 12th April 1779 at Thatcham. Thomas and Rose were both of this parish. They were married by banns. The witnesses were David TIDBURY and Edw. WINBOLT.
