I have just looked at the first 50 records but there are several wills for BATES in the Kingclere area. A yeoman family by the looks of it for at least all of the 18th century. The records are at the Hampshire Record Office. Regards, Nigel Gerdes
Beverley If you've not already done so, click on the link to Search the ENG-HAMPSHIRE-KINGSCLERE archives http://archiver.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/search and enter the name Bates and you will find exchanges between Jim BATES, myself and others, concerning research, wills etc for the Bates family of Kingsclere/Ecchinswell. I've not heard from Jim since my last submission.
