Beverley- I may have missed it, but didn't see any further reference to Hillier in this thread. My SMITH family has a connection to HILLIER via my gggm Georgeina (THORN) SMITH. Some greater detail was posted here last year: _http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/read/ENG-HAMPSHIRE-KINGSCLERE/2007-01/1170057 117_ (http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/read/ENG-HAMPSHIRE-KINGSCLERE/2007-01/1170057117) I am curious if we may perhaps have overlapping families? Fanny appears to have taken the Pope surname and married under same. This is getting very confusing. Could some kind person check the marriages for me . Good morning Chuck Thankyou for answering. Iam just at the start of of this line though it seems to be overlapping. I read your posting with interest a point that jumped out was the name Georgiana we have that name in our line!!! Might be nothing but makes one think. Also we have a Sophia Bates marrying Joseph Smith at Kingsclere. The Hillier connection we need to dig a bit further, Naomi Smith we don't know much about her yet need more research. Can I keep you on file and get back to you. but if you have questions I'll do my best.
