Mike Hello Mike I think Pat's grandfather is Henry born ca1883 in Newbury, son of Charles Albert and Charlotte (1891 Census) or Clara (1901 census), cannot find a marriage on FreeBMD to confirm her name so am hoping Pat has the details Henry ca1883 married about June 1918, Alton RD, to Alice H Chandler and had Henry L ca1920 and Hilda J ca1921 both born in Farnham RD. Again I'm hoping Pat will confirm these are her ancestors. Looking into the Dance family this morning I've found a whole group of them in Hurstbourne Tarrant going back to a Humphrey who married Anne Andrews there on 2 Oct 1701. Among descendants is a James born 24 Mar 1782 and baptised on 14 Jun 1782 at Hurstbourne Tarrant to John & Sarah Holdway, who married in HT on 20 Sep 1777. I am wondering if he could be the James who married Rebecca Foster in Kingsclere. I have James buried at St. Paul on 16 Feb 1848 age 70 which would make him born ca1778. -- John Lewis Debian & the GeneWeb genealogical data server

The children I found are the ones Pat has, but my marriage of Henry (Leonard) to Alice Chandler is incorrect. He actually married in 1914, at St. Mark, Cold Ash, an Evelyn Davis and they had one son Leonard Charles, born on 27 March 1915. Henry Leonard was killed at Ypres in 1917 Name: DANCE, HENRY L.
