I recently come accross site below which has copies of various parish register books. There are various Phillimore ones, as well as odd parishes from all over UK. There are some Thatcham ones from about 400 years ago. _http://www.archive.org/search.php?query=parish%20registers&page=1_ (http://www.archive.org/search.php?query=parish%20registers&page=1) You can also find other history books, including lots of US ones, but there are histories of Thatcham & Newbury. The latter has lots of names, probably not many ag labs but clerics, tradesmen, aldermen etc. Gerald

The Hampshire Phillimores I've long had, stored on my computer in spreadsheet format, but I hadn't realized he'd 'done' other areas. And there is a lot of non-phillimore stuff as well. I spotted Allcannings, Wilts which may help with some of the families in my database that originated there. -- John Lewis Debian & the GeneWeb genealogical data server
For anyone with Allcannings origins/interests, there is a sizeable batch of 1787 baptisms missing that can only be rectified after reference to the BTs. There are also six in the 1790s with missing surnames that can be traced via BTs: 18 Nov 1794 [EADS]George son of John & Mary 22 Nov 1795 [PEARCE]Ann daughter of John & Elizabeth 09 Mar 1796 [FOWL]Mary daughter of Susannah Base born 19 Jun 1796 [ELES]Susannah dau of Richard & Elizabeth 25 Mar 1798 [CODRAY]Robert son of Charles & Hanah 27 May 1798 [WELLES]Daniel son of John & Martha Anyone wanting details of the 1787 omissions, please contact me off-list.
