Hello Everyone, Yesterday at the Basingstoke Group Meeting of HGS, we had the HGS Bookstall visit us, I bought for £2.00 (or £2.50 by post UK), a small booklet, very good information all to do with Kingsclere. This booklet gives information, also the serial number to look up at the Hampshire Record Office on the information. It talks about non-conformist worshipping as early as 12 December 1706, also certificates being issued, to worship in meeting house of people in the village, Richard DYER in Swan Street, Richard BRIDGEMAN in Plastow Green, John HALL in Ashford Hill, Richard PARKER also in Ashford Hill and many other names of residents who held meetings of different religions. There is a good write-up on the Public Houses and mentions surname of ALYN, AUSTIN, SHERWELL, WALTER, SEWARD, GARDNER, HERBERT, BATT, HUSSEY, and NAPPER.
