    3. Hi Everybody, Thanks Barbara, I noticed the father (see below) Samuel Miles had been married to Jane Richardson. John's website does not have parents for Jane. The 1841 census at Kingsclere shows she was the daughter of John and Amelia Richardson and the 1851 at Headley, North Hants census shows that her father was born ca 1808 at Brimpton, Berks and her mother at Andover , Hants ca 1810. Jane had older brothers Henry and George and a younger sister Sarah, all born at Kingsclere. Hope this helps with another two families linked. Does anybody have the Brimpton Baptisms to try and trace the parents of John Richardson? Regards, Nigel Gerdes Barbara wrote: > Hello Everyone, > > Woodlands Baptism 1870 > snipped > Charles son of Samuel & Jane MILES (privately bapt) Headley Labourer > 18 February snipped > Kind regards

Does anybody have the > Brimpton Baptisms to try and trace the parents of John Richardson? There are lots of missing parents tho' I am trying to find as many as possible using the Hants Marriage index. Unfortunately John & Amelia don't seem to have married in Hampshire nor are they recorded on the IGI I eventually found the baptism of all except Sarah in the Hants Bapt Index, just as well as the entry for Jane (bapt 2 Jun 1833) is barely readable on the PR fiche. George (bapt 14 Feb 1830) & Henry (bapt 13 Oct 1831) are OK and there is a margin note for Henry 'born Sep 9th' FreeBMD records a Sarah born Dec Qtr 1839 but I think the reason she doesn't appear in the Bapt Index is because there doesn't seem to be a baptism entry for her. At least I haven't found one yet. What is missing from Census records is baptism of an Eleanor on 25 Jun 1837 and her burial on 14 Feb 1838 All entries record abode of John as Kingsclere Common or Headl(e)y Common which is where they were living in 1851/1861/1871 I really wish Berks FHS would transcribe the Brimpton registers! There is nothing to help us on the IGI, we get some records for Thatcham & Greenham but the Brimpton records would be very useful as I am sure quite a few parents from the Ashford Hill/Headly area found it easier to get to Brimpton than to Kingsclere (until St. Pauls was built at least) -- John Lewis Debian & the GeneWeb genealogical data server

    3. Hello Nigel, Thank you for this information, I will pass this on to Dorothy BOWMAN (non computer), she did have Samuel's wife as Jane and have now added the surname of RICHARDSON to her FT, that I have a copy of. Dorothy's FT did not have any dates of BMD for Samuel's marriage, looking on John's website, I was surprised to see that Samuel had been married 3 times. Jane RICHARDSON was 27 years younger than Samuel. I think she must have died as a result of child birth with her son Charles, who only lived 1 day. Kind regards Barbara Lewis Mallyon Basingstoke, Hants.
