Hi Ken, Oak House is Grade 2 listed and still exists and is shown on UK Ordnance Survey maps of the area at grid reference SU 585608. My map is too small at scale 1:50000 to have all the farms. The 1:25000 map should have more detail. Perhaps somebody on the list with more local knowledge will reply. The Edward Allen shown at Manor Farm in the 1891 census is a distant relative to me and even more distant by another branch is Albert Kimbrey next door to Charles Pearce. Albert Kimbrey was until at least 1895 the village blacksmith so it is very easy to locate his dwelling even today. Next to Manor farm to the north was the Primitive Methodist Chapel (later the Reading Room) and beyond that the Forge and Blacksmith's Cottage which was next to Upper Farm. Albert Kimbrey later took up farming and moved ca 1898 to Church Farm in the immediate area. The Primitive Methodist Chapel is not to be confused with the Wesleyan Methodist Chapel that was located the other side of Upper Farm. I would suspect from the family units on the two 1891 census pages some houses were sub-divided. Hope this helps, Nigel Gerdes > Names on my grandfather PEARCE's side are PEARCE, ELLIOTT, MERRICK, & > WATTS. > > I have found my grandfathers family on baughurst road in the 1891 census. > > They were 3 houses away from Oak House and 2 from Manor farm.
