As some of you know my connection with Kingsclere area is the STOCKER family My enquiry concerns a brass plate that is affixed to the floor of the Royal Oak pub at Ecchinswell; that village is where the STOCKER family lived late 1700s and early 1800s. The wording on the plate is as follows:- Stan " Stocker" Stacey stood here. I am sure that someone on the list will know the significance of the wording and also all about the person concerned. I would be grateful to know all about it please.

Hi Rodney, I will double check with a friend of mine who was a regular at the "Oak" in the 70's, but if memory serves me right, "Stocker" Stacey was just a regular drinker and "Stocker" was his nickname due to his build.
