    3. Hi Barrie, Yes, I had come to the same conclusion but I'm afraid I can't tell you more about Matthew as I've not researched his descendants. Henry's descendancy is my line of interest. Cheers.... Mike From: barrie.brinkman@btinternet.com To: ENG-HAMPSHIRE-KINGSCLERE@rootsweb.com Date: Sun, 30 May 2010 18:02:04 +0100 Subject: [King] Matthew Hitchcock SNIPPED Matthew was news to me and at the bottom of the page Mike Hutchins had reported to John Lewis the additional child. SNIPPED This leads to a possibility. John Lewis’s database has two Matthews. Matthew1 is recorded as the christening in 1745 and there are no further sightings of this Matthew in the parishes within 10 miles of Kingsclere. Matthew2 is recorded as marrying Elizabeth Appelton at Wolverton in 1773 and of Kingsclere parish. A number of children are born and Matthew dies in Exman at Kingsclere in 1832 aged 91. Clearly when he died no one was around who would have known his birth so it is possible that his age at death is not quite accurate and he was in fact 87. It appears that at least John and Henry brothers of Matthew settled in or near Kingsclere so there seems to be enough evidence that the two Matthews are the same person Barrie _________________________________________________________________ http://clk.atdmt.com/UKM/go/197222280/direct/01/ We want to hear all your funny, exciting and crazy Hotmail stories.
