    1. Family Names; MATTHEWS - PARSONS - MARKS - WHITE
    2. Ian & Linda Mossman
    3. Hullo all, I am descended from Thomas MATTHEWS ( 2 T's ) who married Mary PARSONS at Kingsclere on 19 July 1794. Their third child, Charles MATTHEWS was baptised on 29 June 1801 at Kingsclere and he married Eliza MARKS. Charles & Eliza's first child, Thomas, was born at Kingsclere in 1831. Charles & Eliza emigrated to New Zealand aboard the 'Olympus' in 1842. Eliza was baptised on 24 May 1803 at Reading and was the daughter of Francis MARKS & Elizabeth WHITE. If anyone is researching those family names I would be very pleased to receive any further information which might add to my family tree. Kind Regards, Ian Mossman. 1. Thomas HUNT and son Reuben
    2. Nancy Hoffmann
    3. Hello - I'm a new lister. I've been told that there are several HUNT researchers on this list. I'm seeking information about my GGGF and his eldest son, Reuben, who lived to young manhood at least. They have led me a merry dance across several Counties and now here I am in yours ;-) My GGGF Thomas HUNT, a widower of Pendock, Worcs married Ann (Nancy) WELDING or WILDING of Redmarley d'Abitot, Worcs in Pendock in Feb 1819. I cannot find any trace of an earlier marriage, and wonder if he came from a different county - there is no record of HUNTs in Pendock. According to family anecdote, Thomas was cousin to the Earl of Somerset and was cut off by his family when he married a maid or governess. I have not idea whether this story is true or not. Thomas and Nancy had 5 children: Reuben - another mystery man - probably b. ca 1820-24. He may have had a son Aubrey. Elizabeth b. 1825 in Reading - went to Aust. Emma b. 1830 in Reading - m. Joseph WAUGH Mary Ann b. 1831 in Reading - m. BOSHIER, later went to aust. Edwin b. 1837 - my GGF - b. 1837 in Reading - m. Margaret MORGAN and took family to Aust. Do any of these names sound familiar? Nancy Hoffmann Christchurch NZ formerly Sydney and Brisbane AU.

    1. Kingsclere Marriage Banns
    2. Barbara Mallyon
    3. Hello All, Yesterday I had time to go into the Basingstoke Library, I looked at the Kingsclere Banns to see what information they had. The microfiche reader was not very good, I managed to pick out a few Banns that I could read:- William GIRDLER and Elizabeth HEDGER? of Bucklesbury, Berkshire 10, 17,24 September 1758 Robert BUXEY and Judith SMITH 29 October, 5, 12 November 1758 John TIBBLE and Elizabeth Harmsworth 15, 22, 29 July 1759 Hannah JEWELL and Thomas RICHARDSON of Brimpton, Berkshire 16, 23, 30 September 1759 Thomas ROLFE and Elizabeth MARTIN 3,10,17 August 1760 Richard GRIGG and Elizabeth BOND of Wolverton 17,24,31 August 1760 Robert ROLFE and Ann TANNER/TAMER ? 18, 25, October 1 November 1761 Thomas TAYLOR and Mary DUCKETT 8, 15, 22 August 1762 Please remember that the above are Banns to be read out in church, on the Sunday of the 3 given dates, this is to say that the couple intend to get married. If anyone does not agree to the couple getting married, this is the time that they can give their objections to the couple and to the church. The couple may decide that after the Banns have been read in church, that they don't want to marry, so the above named couples may not have got married, please check this out for your self. The couple may also have got married at another church. Regards Barbara Mallyon Basingstoke, Hants, UK BarbaraMallyon@lewmal.co.uk

Main person is David S/O (born 1822) John & Rachael AKA Phoebe Weston. John & Rachael had 8 Children William,James,Charles,Joseph,John,George,Jane & David. I have quite a lot of information on the other children that has been passed to me. I have been to the HRO on a number of times, but I have been unable to locate Davids birth/baptism records and his marriage certificate to Louisa Digweed.. Any information would be very much appreciated. Many thanks Regards Sheila
