    3. Hello Barbara and all Thank you Barbara for giving me the marriage details of Ann Piper and John Miles. I cannot connect them with my tree at present, but maybe when I get round to doing a bit more research on my family, who knows. In fact I have only got 3 generations of Pipers, George Piper, whom I have got no information on, was the father of William Piper born about 1816, who married Maria Lewington, (who later married George Foster), and all their children of which Jane is the one from whom I am descended. I am doing a bit of transcribing in the Devon and Somerset areas at the moment and one bit of information leads to yet another parish to look at, and so it goes on. But I will get back to researching Hampshire again. The reason for this e-mail is: a long time ago, when I was new to researching I ordered a birth certificate for my JANE PIPER, but when I got it, it was the wrong one. I have since got the correct one. If anyone would like a birth certificate for JANE PIPER born 6th July 1848, daughter of John Piper and Hannah Piper formerly Oliver at Tunworth. I am willing to send it, if you contact me. regards Sue Froud

    3. My great grandmother, Letitia PARSONS birth shows in the June 1838 free bmd for Kingsclere. The 1881 census shows she was born in Ashford Hill. Her marriage to Edwin CLARKE was registered in 1866 in Kingsclere. Edwin was a Primitive Methodist minister so they moved about every three years. I know they had left the area by 1868. Does anyone have access to the 1841/51/61 census to find some details of her family please? Any other suggestions would be most welcome. Thanks Les Blues West Vancouver, BC Canada

    2. Hello Barbara, Can you look at details of the death of JOSEPH SAVERY in Kingsclere, Sept Q, 1845 ? I need his age and anything else that's there. I keep looking at everyone's ancestors, hoping to make a link up with my Savery/ Goddard. But no luck yet. A couple of 'cousins' I have found through this hobby are descended from Buckeridges. ISAAC BUCKERIDGE appears on trade directories as the local carrier in abt 1850 If anyone else is connected they would love to know. Regards to all. Valerie Pickard

    3. Miriam MILES [1800] had two Base Born children before her Marriage to John DRY - one of these was Johanna MILES [1821] who married William EDWARDS [who was Born At Sea re. Census - cannot find Baptism]. I descend from mother and daughter - both are my Great Great Grandparents - is this unique!! I come down my lineage via Letitia DRY [1835] on Coral's Chart - and this is where it really gets complicated - but thats another story! Denis

    3. Barbara thinks it's a good idea if I put on the list my family, so here goes............. Since Denis, was good enough earlier to input his Miles research in Chedworth I have decided to put in Miles family from Kingsclere and the back of beyond, namely Chedworth in Glos. Shame we can't find William Miles marrying Mary Withers.......And no Withers in Chedworth at all, I think maybe a look at the surrounding parishes is called for. I'll ask for the Colne's... next time I'm at my LHC. Please come back to me if there are any discrepancies or Crepancies!! Please get back to me if you find something suspect or something to laud!' Over the next few days I will add the rest of my family for you all to ... hopefully add to or subtract from. Regards, Carol Ps I look forward to Kingsclere inputs! 1. Re: CHEDWORTH info on MILES
    2. Barbara Mallyon
    3. Hello Dennis and All, Please go careful when researching the MILLS and the MILES families, some of these go back to the 1600s in Kingsclere, which I was surprised at. If anyone goes to the Hampshire Record Office in Winchester, when you go into the search room, go straight head and the first set of cabinets on the right facing you, on the second shelf from the bottom, to the right, colour a sort of mustard are Kingsclere files, they have got all of the names typed out for the 1500s and 1600s well worth having a look at.
