I was remiss in adding the place of the census etc and I apologise all the events were in Portsea and Portsmouth and also the year of the Census is incorrect as well it was the 1851 and in 1861 she was not there she was not there. I think it will be easier if I list my notes so you can see them. Here are all my notes on the family Thomas Hollis DOB possibly 01 Sep 1816 at Northwood IOW. Parents Probably Thomas Hollis of Cowes IOW and Elizabeth Mrs Dunn ( Both the father and son were bakers). 1851 Microfilm HO107/1657/533 Thos Hollis, Head, Married, age 34, Shoemaker (3 men) born on the Isle of Wight. Mary do, Wife, M, age 41, b Portsea Lydia Ann, do, Dau, age obscured, Schol, b Portsea. Mary Bewsey, Dau in Law, age 9, Schol, b Portsea Hannah, do, Dau in law, age 7, Shol, b Portsea Mary Maylan, Niece, Unmarried, age 20, B Portsea Hana (sic), Mother in Law, widow, age 77, Born Margate , Kent. 1861 Census RG 9/632 13 20Residence 226 Great Charlotte Street, Thomas Hollis, Head, 45, Shoemaker, WEST COWES Isle of Wight Mary (we know it is Mercy), wife, 50, Landport. Lydia, dau, 18, Needlework, Landport. Thos. Wm., son, 10, Scholar, Landport. George, son, 8, Scholar, Landport.
