Hi everyone Years ago in the 1960's my aunt and uncle lived in Aldershot. (My uncle was in the Canadian Army). They went back to Canada in the late 1960's. They had a gate in the fence at the back of their garden which led right into the woods. The wood contained the remains of a tank that me and my cousins would clamber all over. I think from memory it was a Sherman. I'm trying to locate whereabouts in Aldershot the tank in the woods is - and possibly the road that my aunt, uncle and cousins lived in. From memory I think it was in the area of Ash as I seem to remember that Mychett Lake was nearby. Any ideas? Regards Patrick (Bournemouth, Dorset)
You will probably find this has been moved Patrick We had a similar tank plus other vehicles parked at the back of us at Totton but it was in the mid 50s that they were moved.
