Alan, I do have a Birth certificate for a George WEST born in the Kingsclere workhouse. No father is given. The date of birth 09/01/1850 on the cert would seem to indicate that it is the one in the IGI as baptised 25/01/1850. The certificate was obtained in an attempt to locate a father for the George WEST (my 2nd great grandfather). His marriages give 2 different fathers names, the first marriage in 1867 it is David WEST and at his second in 1877 it is Daniel WEST. Yes I know he must have been only 17 or 18 when he married for the first time if all the later census ages he gives are to be believed. In these he was born 1849 or 1850. I cannot another George WEST from Tadley that could be a suitable candidate for the one I am looking for! Barry
