    3. Mention of Birmingham in this context makes me wonder whether the official who wrote 'Lymington' might have misheard the informant say 'Leamington'. Pronounced 'Lemmingt'n'. Leamington Spa to give it its official name is a Warwickshire town not far from Birmingham! But if it said 'Hampshire' of course I'm way off!
