Hi again List - I am so sorry I didn't write sooner to thank all who answered my question about the gazetteer. I've been having serious computer problems on and off probably since the day I posted. Hopefully these have been solved now, but just to be safe, a new computer will be on the way soon. Also the holes in my Hants. research were much worse than I thought. In fact, everything is wrong, so it's back to square one. The thing is, I know better! I will be posting all the folks soon who I thought were mine and turned out not to be. The English sure moved around a lot, didn't they?! It must have been hell doing English research pre-computer. Thanks again for all the help, and I will be sure to take all your advice when I get more sorted out. I realize that there are excellent gazetteers online and also maps, and these have helped me a great deal so far, but I need the big picture showing all of Hants. or specifically the South. I'd appreciate any recommendations.
