    3. I have searched extensively for my 3X Great Grandfather Edward or Edmund LEFEVRE"s birth/baptism record in the Portsmouth area with out success. But I have now found a rather prominent family of LE FEVRE and wonder if this is the Portsmouth connection. Edward spent his adult life in Southwark and Bermondsey,London according to the Birth Marriage and Death records I have found,he is also listed with his extensive family on the 1851/61/71/81 and his widow is on the 1891 Census for Southwark. On his marriage certificate he gives his fathers name as Thomas LEFEVRE a silk weaver and on the census records he appears to have been born in 1800/01 and on all the census returns he gives his birthplace as Portsmouth. In 1826 I found that a Samuel LE FEVRE esq was Mayor of Southampton and that previously he had held a position as a Customs Inspector also a W.J.LE FEVRE esq was elected as a junior bailiff at the same time as Samuel was chosen as Mayor. Can SKS on the list help me find out more information on this family of LE FEVRE?? Carole in Ontario,Canada
