Hi list I have just discovered another bad transcription error on the ancestry 1861 census which might affect a search that some listers do. In quite a number of cases where the enumerator has put "Do" for ditto in the county name in Place of Birth, the transcribers have read this as Dorset!!!!!!!!! I dont know whether this applies for every instance of "Do", but to date I have found 5 separate instances. HTH someone Sandra
