Dear List, Further to my last message re John WATERS and Susannah ASTON md. Fordingbridge 1763 I have now found Susannah's baptism under a variant of the surname, i.e. AUSTIN. She was baptised in Fordingbridge in 1740 the daughter of Giles AUSTIN and his wife Mary ELRIDGE whom he married in 1728. They also had a son Giles in 1732. Giles senior was born in Fordingbridge in 1708, son of Ambrose AUSTIN who was born there in 1674 to another Ambrose AUSTIN. Ambrose senior was baptised in Fordingbridge in 1646, son of Thomas AUSTIN. I have not found the baptism of Mary ELRIDGE (presumably als. ALDRIDGE) nor have I found the marriages of Thomas, Ambrose senior or Ambrose junior so I would be geateful if anyone could shed some light on this family which has blessed me with some unusual first names for a change!
