Nigel, Are you talking about West End near Southampton? If so, the parish registers date from 1840. Earlier entries would have been entered in the registers of South Stoneham. Indexed transcripts of the South Stoneham registers 1659-1837 are held by Southampton City Archives, Hampshire Record Office, Hampshire Genealogical Society, and the Society of Genealogists.
