Hi Gwen, These details were found on the International Genealogical Index at: http://www.familysearch.org GEORGE RICHARD WHITTY Birth: 11 MAY 1842 Christening: 08 APR 1849 Saint Marys, Portsea, Hampshire, England His parents are shown as George and Rebecca Whitty. Also recorded on the IGI is this: GEORGE WITTEY Marriage: 26 Jun 1833 Saint Marys, Portsea, Hampshire, England Spouse: Rebecca Gaces There doesn't appear to be any other birth or christenings listed on the IGI, but I'm sure between 1833 and 1842 the chances are that there would have been.     3. Hello Gwen. I just noticed this message and thought I would say hi. My Great-Grandfather, Henry John WILSON was also born in Portsea, Hampthire in 1849 and I could just see them playing together possibly. How I wish I could step back in time and see for myself life back then and find all the missing links to his story. My Gr.Grandfather ended up in Bermuda and now I'm trying to piece together the past. Have a great day.
