How do I prove who mother is ? I started out with ggrandfather's death certificate that stated father - William, mother - Unknown. Then purchased ggf marriage certificate - father - George. Searching census found possible family with George as father, then found marriage of a George that fitted family on census. Purchased birth certificate that fits time frame for ggf with George as father. Where else can I go to find if mother in this family with George is mother of ggf. Thanks, Rose

Hi Rose, You need to purchase your ggrandfather's birth certificate. This will state the name and maiden name of the mother, besides the father. You can then verify that you have the correct marriage by ensuring that the names on the marriage certificate are identical.
