Hi, I am a newcomer to this list, and am looking for a family named GARDINER. The details of the family are as follows. Father John GARDINER, age unknown but pos. around 44, a railway agent. Prob b in Leicester. Could have died before the 1851 census was taken. Wife Mary GARDINER, age abt 44, b Leicester. dau Sophia Jane, age 21, b Leicester dau Sarah Ann, age 20, b Leicester son William W. age 18, b Leicester, possibly also a railway worker. dau Eliza, age 11, b Battersea area son John F. age 5, b Gosport, Hants son Charles, born 1851, Fareham/Farnham? Hants This family is the most elusive of branch of my family tree. I have been unable to find any record of any of the Leicester births. I do have census records of them in the 1861 thru 1901 census though. Any leads would be very gratefully received. Dave in Quebec.
