    3. Hi Listers, Does this pay-per-view site actually give more information than the free commonwealth war graves site? Kathryn

    3. Alison: As far as I can see the only difference is place of birth, and normal residence upon signing up - but perhaps someone will prove me wrong! The Commonwealth graves site does sometimes give next of kin i.e. son of , or husband of , so may in fact be more helpful. 3. Not too sure about this Kathryn as did not have time to go through it as I was just going up to London! Wish I hadn't now!! Its chaos up there, truck of Hydrogen Peroxide overturned them blew up scattering itself over all eight lanes in both directions about 15 minutes before we got there (Juntion 13 M3). Took two hours just to get around it. M4 also affected and M25 between Jnc 11 -13 closed in both directions!! 3. The new genealogy site is an on-line search facility of "Soldiers who died in the Great War" which has been around on CD for a number of years at vast cost!! I have searched both this and the CWGC site in the past and have found very little difference in the two databases - probably because the former actually uses the CWGC information. Occasionally there is a small amount of additional information, but this is rarely of a genealogical nature. I certainly have not found additional information about parentage on the "Soldiers" CD. Hope this helps Sandra Chris and Caroline wrote: > Not too sure about this Kathryn as did not have time to go through it > as I was just going up to London! > Wish I hadn't now!! > > Its chaos up there, truck of Hydrogen Peroxide overturned them blew up > scattering itself over all eight > lanes in both directions about 15 minutes before we got there (Juntion > 13 M3). 3. I just did a short check on a few WWI family victims. Obviously it does not contain any Naval information, being purely Military. But although it says 'every regiment and corps of the British Army', it does not appear to include the RFC, which was an Army Corps until April 1918. Obviously by 1921 when this list was created, the RFC was considered to be the RAF, and so not covered. All services are of course in the CWGC website. Cheers, Dave Jacobs ================ At 23:04 30/08/2005, you wrote: >Thanks Sandra >That will save me having a proper look!!
