    3. Hello, All. I have just subscribed to this list and I'm hopeful someone here may be able to help me. I've researched my TATE family from Middlesex County back to late 1700s, but found that HENRY TATE, b. 1815, Somers Town, became a widow and remarried in 1871 to MARY TUGWELL. They married in Brighton, Sussex County. They had a daughter, EDITH TATE, in the 1870s, and eventually relocated to Portsmouth, Hampshire. EDITH TATE married FRANK TOMS in Portsmouth. By 1901, they had 2 children: EDITH TOMS and ALBERT TOMS. I believe they moved to Conway St. in Landport. HENRY TATE died in 1902, and the informant was his daughter, EDITH TOMS, who lived on Conway St. He is buried in Kingston Cemetery with his wife, MARY TATE, and his daughter and son-in-law, EDITH TOMS and FRANK TOMS. The last burial in this plot was EDITH GABRIELLE MARY TOMS who died in Feb. 1951, Aged - 76 yrs Died at - 24 Merthyr Avenue, East Cosham. Can anyone tell me if 24 Merthyr Ave., East Cosham, is a private residence or a nursing home? Does anyone have any access to obituaries from that area/time period? I have no clue as to even what newspapers are in that area. Does anyone have TATE or TOMS in the tree from Portsmouth? It may be that EDITH and FRANK TOMS' daughter, EDITH TOMS, married a GEORGE DINES, but I am unsure. Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated. I am hopeful I may be able to located some distant TOMS cousins in the area. Thank you, - Kathy Tate Anderson New Jersey, USA
