Kathy Your message arrived as I was posting a message to Somerset List re a TOMS born in Dorset, but living in CREWKERNE. I can not (yet) help with your query, but this was mine. On the 1901 Census William TOMS occupation is shown as BEANSMAN. I have checked two "Old Occupations" lists but can find no trace. Nearest is BEADSMAN but I do not think that is it. The writing is very clear and precise. Anyone ever heard of this?
