Dear Chris & Caroline, I'm not aware of a Holly Hill Woods near Havant, but then I don't know that area at all - there is a Hollybank just over the border in Emsworth, though. No, the Holly Hill Woodland Park is between Warsash and Sarisbury and was within Titchfield Parish - other correspondents have mentioned that the Mansion there has been refurbished after a fire. Regarding Richard's other query, 'Common Gates' - there were 'Pound Gates' (i.e., those that coralled stray animals) for Titchfield Common and these are commemorated in Pound Gate Drive to the southwest of the Common.
