    3. Hi I'm new to this list. I have been researching my ancestors in Sussex and have hit a brick wall. I'm trying to find out where Richard Blundell came from. He married in Stedham in 1769 to Ann Howick (it said Hoick on the parish registry, but I don't think the rector could spell or write very well) . Ann was from Stedham parish and Richard from Selham, both in Sussex. They raised their family in Selham and the surname became Blunden. When they died , Richard in 1814 aged 83 and Ann in 1817 aged 73 they were buried in Selham. But it stated in the registry that they came from South Ambersham. Now Ambersham was part of Hampshire until 1844 and I was wondering if maybe Richard was a Hampshire Blundell. Can anyone throw any light on this and perhaps give me a few directions where to search. Many thanks Jan

    3. Ambersham is a strip of land adjacent to Fernhurst and Easebourne in Sussex. Until 1844, it was part of the parish of Steep, Hampshire.
