    3. Hi Kevin, Besides the Phillimore Hampshire Marriages which can be downloaded free from Genuki (some IOW parishes), the only other source I have found on CD at the Parish Register Transcription Society: http://www.prtsoc.org.uk/ They sell CD's of Transcriptions made by Hackman of the BT's (1780 onwards, but some missing years). You can buy the whole series or part series on CD. Quite useful although you need a bit of care with the missing years and bear in mind this is a transcription of a contempary copy of the parish registers - and they are NOT indexed so have to be searched manually. 3. Hi Sandra Thanks for the suggestion. I've had a look at the PRT website, and at Parish Chest. I could buy the full set for £25 or just those CDs that feature the IOW (there are 6, and they'd probably cost about £25 anyway). The problem I have is that I have no idea which parish John was born in, and I've only got the census records to say that he was born on the IOW. Perhaps someone has a lookup service. I'll wait a few days to see what other responses I get, and then consider these CDs. Thanks for your input.
