I hope someone can point me in the right direction for an answer on this one - One of my ancient rellies signed on as a Boy Seaman in the RN in 1837 when he was 14 years old - would he have needed to get a parent's signature? - I imagine the rules might have beem similar to those for Apprentices but I'm not sure. If both his parents were dead would some other adult have been rquired to sign? I know this isn't really Hampshire but I am sure there is someone with some specialised Royal Navy knowledge that might be able to help - or at least refer me elsewhere Many thanks Beryl
