Getting warmer! Thanks Steve. We share the same name! I am descended from the Days of Linton, Cambs. Are churches open these days or does one have to call or write to get access during the week? I know I read somewhere there is a huge key to unlock Boldre church! Boldre church is normally open until dusk but to view any records you have to contact the incumbent there. The history and photos of the church can be found on my website SOUTHERN LIFE(UK) You can either go via the village page at http://www.southernlife.org.uk/boldre.htm#Boldre or direct to the church page at http://www.southernlife.org.uk/boldrech.htm Chris SOUTHERN LIFE(UK) http://Southernlife.org.uk History of the Hampshire, Dorset and IOW Villages,Towns and Churches ----- Original Message ----- From: "Judy d'Albert" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, May 01, 2007 5:48 PM Subject: Re: [ENG-HANTS] Do Lymington Parish Records Exist? Thanks, Chris! It was on your site I think that I read about the enormous key! It is so outstandingly helpful to those of us far away to have you put out so much voluntary effort. I hope my sister and brothers can have a little "treasure hunt" in August after I have sent them the completed surprise project. My cousin in the IOW , once I collate everything, will also make the pilgrimage because she and her extended family are very much interested in our ancestors' stories, but, at present, only know the paternal side of this branch that hails from Beckenham, Kent, which also has a very complete inventory of graves online including a hand drawn map on another link. The Mathews go back to 1700 there and were farmers on the Cator estate. There is a keen interest in the original families as the town has got swallowed up into Borough of Bromley. My great grandfather Mathew married a Sarah Elizabeth Andrews from Farringdon, Hants, in 1871. Her mother was Sarah Pink of PINKS JAMS family, so if anyone reading this any info on that, please forward. No sooner does one question get answered than several more pop up!
