I am exploring a new branch on my family tree and would like to hear from anyone who might have the FRENCH or HOBBS family in their tree. My ggg grandmother was Frances (Fanny) Hobbs b. 1787 in Alton, married to William French of Alton on 23 June, 1806. Their children were Frances Eliza b. 1808; George Henry b. 1814; Stephen John b. 1817; Charles Thomas b. 1820; Elizabeth Sarah b. c. 1822; Frederick William b. 1824; Mary Emma b. 1827, all born in Alton. I believe her parents were William HOBBS and Frances RANDELL but sources are sketchy. They were possibly married in September 1784 in Alton.
