Dear Pat Many thanks for your reply. I am writing on behalf of a friend. She has only just discovered some of the information I have , then I searched the internet to add some flesh to the bones. So we certainly have not gone back as far as your research - you lucky thing. So, I don't know whether your line might cross. Were all your family in Newfoundland in 1770s? 'our' Pottles are from Romsey area Hampshire, UK. Thanks for getting in touch. Joseph Pottle married Katherine Eustace 1770. They had Elizabeth 17 Oct 1771, William 7 Dec 1772, Thomas 2 Mar 1777 and John 10 June 1781. All dates are baptismal dates in the Anglican Carhedral in St. John's. My line is the Eustace line.
