Hi Jim, First, it would be wrong to assume that Hannah was born in K E. It may well have been her abode of settlement, but this could be for a number of reasons, not just birth. As suggested by another poster, Reed is quite a common name and you should look for all sorts of spelling variations: REDE, REID, READ, RED, RIED. I have a similar problem on one of my lines and even after 40 odd years of research, I still can't conclude about the origins of my man.
