Hi, Could SKS please tell me where to look for more proof of my 2 x grandmothers parents, siblings. My 2 x grandmother is Ellen Jameson m to Simon King 1854 Southampton. Ages on marriage certificate is 'Full'. Father John, occ clerk. I have copies of 1861,71,81 census. (Dorset & Hampshire) Birth year varies between 1825 & 1828. Place of birth varies - Paddington, Middlesex and London. Children (I have their birth certificates), varies from using first names to second names to variants - Flora Jane, William George, Eleanor (Ellen) and Ann. Ellen died 1883 South Stoneham. I have found this family in 1841 census that fits - Borough of St Marylebone John Jameson, 45 Army (not born county) Jane Jameson, 45 Wife (born Scotland) Ellen 15 (born county) Frederick 13 (born county) Found Marriage in Marylebone for John Young Jameson 1817 (b 1790 London) to Jane Oliver (b 1786 Scotland) Children, Robert 1818, William 1819, Eleanor 1823, James 1824, Frederick 1827. Have John's death certificate 1845 and the informant is daughter Eleanor Jameson. John's occ Clerk. I have his will and he is listed as Gentleman of Marylebone and list the above children with James as executor. Wife, Jane then shows up on 1851 & 1861 census living with James and dying in Liverpool 1863. I can trace all of this family with the exemption of not knowing if my Ellen is their Eleanor. 1851 there is a possibility of Ellen as a domestic in Middlesex. The marriage certificate of Ellen's does not say father is deceased. Thanks, Rose.
